Hi Team,

I'd like to start by introducing myself my name is Billie J Voyles, the instructor for Cannabis Extraction at Saint Louis Community College. I wanted to take a moment to share some of our upcoming events with you all.

I have lined out for the day section, please feel free to share and then let me know what you and the company would like to participate in! I thought that the company would be a perfect fit as you offer many products.

We have a full class of 12 students enrolled in the day section, and we have 3 weeks till we start!


Our first day January 27th, I try to hand out as much of the branding information that I can to students.

This can be information about the brands locations, companies' moto and culture information, products they offer, partnerships they have with other companies such as out of state/ national brands they might have seen elsewhere, community engagement, company discounts, any of this information is helpful.

My goal with the information overload bag is to show them that all of us are working with the plant to create healing or calming products but we have many methods to get there. From marketing perspectives, social media engagement, cultivation style, extraction techniques, and product creation.

Also, Each item that they receive in this bag will be used as an extra credit opportunity for the students on their final exam. If the students turn in a complete list of companies who provided information from the 2 swag bags and answer a few prepared questions about them, the students can receive 10 bonus points.

This helps make the students read the information, feel like they have a lot of information to share with others and sparks those initial thought, wow… there are a lot of brands. By the end of the semester they are less overwhelmed and understand the names, relationships and products everyone offers.

My thought in this method has always been, the more we feed them this information the less they struggle entering the industry. Please know I’m open to any suggestions also if you have an idea or another kind.

Our celebration bags May 5th are to show off the different brands to students that might not shop the brands currently. We all love gifts and I try to put together this small event to show them that all their hard work is appreciated, like a welcome to the industry party! This is a huge bonus also as they enter summer and vacation season they can show the branded product off to family members, creating more potential customers.
